I’m a freelance artist, photographer and journalist based outside D.C. I love long walks in the rainforest, 9-hour bus rides and high-altitude hikes.

Formerly a senior editor at Everyday Health, I’ve also reported for
The New York Times, NPR, Reuters, National Geographic, Nature,
Al Jazeera America, Outside Magazine, The Atlantic, Smithsonian Magazine, Science Magazine, Scientific American, etc.

I have a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism with concentrations in photo documentary, science journalism and radio reporting.

In 2019, I accomplished my life goal of reporting from all seven continents.
